Lerone Murphy rose to the occasion when called to make his biggest career step.
Back in May 2024, Murphy was given the chance to headline his first UFC event, taking on of the most seasoned and respected names in the featherweight division, Edson Barbosa. It was a big opportunity for Murphy, and he made sure to make the most of it.
In an entertaining fight, Murphy defeated Barbosa to win a unanimous decision and a $50,000 bonus for Fight of the Night. You can watch Murphy’s big win in the video above.
Murphy (15-0-1 MMA, 7-0-1 UFC) returns to the cage this Saturday in the main event of UFC on ESPN 65 (ESPN, ESPN+), which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. He takes on veteran Josh Emmett (19-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC).
