UFC Vegas 104 was certainly a debut to forget for Diyar Nurgozhay.
After coming in to the fight missing weight by 4.5 pounds, Nurgozhay ended up being submitted by Brendson Ribeiro during the event’s main card.
Ribiero started strong, attacking with leg kicks and crisp punching, scoring a knockdown of Nurgozhay during the first round. The Brazilian looked to keep control during the second round with added pressure, but the Kazakh newcomer managed to find his way to Ribiero’s back.

Nurgozhay, meanwhile, suffered his first pro defeat in this fight, having come into the bout 10-0 off a finish of Bartosz Szewczyk on DWCS.
