Was Henry Cejudo wronged in defeat?

Henry Cejudo left UFC Fight Night 252 with a loss. However, many believe that shouldn’t be the case for the former two-division UFC champion.

Cejudo (16-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) headlined the UFC’s return to Seattle this past Saturday against Song Yadong. Unfortunately for him, he was given a third straight defeat, and Song (22-8-1 MMA, 11-3-1 UFC) was awarded the victory.

The result was met with plenty of controversy. Cejudo was eye poked by Song in the third round. He took five minutes to recover and then continued, only to see out the little remaining in the round. In between rounds, Cejudo said his vision was impaired, and he couldn’t continue fighting. That prompted referee Jason Herzog to wave off the action, which made the fight go to a technical decision despite being scheduled for five rounds. All three judges awarded the win to Song, who wasn’t deducted a point despite having multiple fouls.

Was Cejudo wronged here? Does there need to be a change in the current rule set in MMA? Should these two run it back?
